I made a lot of mistakes building my first PC and this might be one of them, currently i have one stick of ram and after doing a benchmark the results were pretty average. If i'd like a performance boost in gaming should i buy another one of these sticks for dual channel or just replace the ram entirely?

I'm no sure how important ram speed is when it comes to gaming

Solution
You can try either but there is no guarantee either way that what you get will play with what you have - mixing DRAM from different packages is a crapshoot, even with another of the same exact model that you have. That' why I suggested a 2x set of DRAM, that way you get a package of 2 sticks tested to work and play nice. If you get another of the XMS and they don't play - then you are looking at returning, restocking fees, etc (if they even allow returns)

i5-4460, MSI B85-G43 GAMING, windforce 290X OC

My question is if i should buy another stick of this since it's cheap or if i should buy another type of ram with better reviews. What sort of performance increase could i expect from either solution?
