Need help with crossfire

I have recently bought and installed a second R9 270x 4gb (Sapphire) and I crossfired it with the one I already had one but I haven't gained any frames and it has caused some problems with games not loading in fullscreen. Can someone please help.

P.s. I have the latest drivers

Other Specs:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400
PSU: 450W (Cant remember manufacturer)
Motherboard: P5Q Deluxe
RAM: 8gb (Can't remember manufacturer)

Hi - The Crossfire needs to be enabled in the AMD Radeon Settings - It doesnt happen by default ( I too learned the hard way) -- But I do think with two graphic cards one will hit a wall with the 450 Watt Power Supply.

So should I go into the Radeon settings and tweak them? But if so what should I adjust to enable crossfire
