buying off e-bay risk

Solution
he should of posted the seller but I guess give him a chance to make it right first ?? the seler mayof got ripped off on it himself from where ever he got it from

in the end buy from a authorized known retailer that deal factory company direct and be safer the sorry

I bet now what ever that guy saved is now not worth the cost and headache he's going through now to resolve that deal
yeah theres always a risk but ebay tend to favour the buyer in those disputes--had one where i bought a high end psu--when it arrived it was in the right box

but inside was a cheap junk psu--got full refund from ebay no problem

its even riskier if you are a seller the buyer can get away with all sorts like breaking the hardware and saying it arrived doa saying you sent a lower spec model and returning their old lower spec model while keeping your higher spec and getting a refund

i will only sell pc stuff cash on collection on ebay now though that limits my target buyers they come test it and pay cash

ya, but all that hassle when you should be enjoying the right card - like getting a bad part and having to do a rma it just blows cause you down and waiting days to get something back to get going the e-mail go round .. just a point to ponder on all that mess .. I could see a used part but sold as factory boxed and get that is just bad news all around

remember back with the AMD gray market cards ?? where they took a lesser hd card and flashed a higher end cards bios on them and sold them as the higher end card ?

yeah i remember those and the dodgy flash drives that showed as higher capacities in my pc but when you tried to write more data to them they wouldnt

but yeah buying or selling anything on ebay can be a pain and thats without the fees as well

taken to selling stuff on facebook lately in local buy sell swap groups--no fees and all cash on collection or cash if they want it delivered

yeah all you can do really is check their feedback--make sure they havent just been buying really cheap stuff just to bump up their feedback--make sure they werent previously using a different name etc

theres more genuine sellers/buyers than scammers and bargains can be had--just got to be extra careful
