Hello,
I am currently using a gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H motherboard and it has 2 PCIE slots(one at 16x and one at 4x).I was just curious if it had Crossfire support and can someone explain the difference between crossfire and CrossfireX.

Technically you probably could run crossfire because it allows x4 to be used, however, it is not recommended. You really want to have two x8 or x16 slots.

That being said, you are usually better off with one good card instead of two weaker cards. unless you are running two top of the line cards but I doubt you are if you are working with a mid range board.

I say use the card you have now until you can afford to replace it with something more powerful. Crossfire and SLI is usually not worth the headache.

But what about one of them being 16X and 4x?Would the performance difference be huge as compared to 8X and 8x (I'm planning on getting another R9 280x) eventhough it is PCI-E 3.0?
