Welcome everybody,
This is a big day for graphics cards because....... today we are going to pick the winner of 2 more or less equally priced GPUs. (Crowd cheers)... the GTX970 and the Radeon R9 390x.(Cheer#2)

Please answer which GPU you would reccomend. The space below now belongs to you.........

The 390 non X is the competitor to the 970.

The 390X is closer to the 980.

Assuming both cards were available for the same price, the 390X would be the obvious pick.

If you meant R9 390 vs GTX970...well...both are about equal with their own pros and cons..
GTX970: more expensive, cooler, more OCable, GSync, a lot more power efficient, has 4GB with bullsh*t.
R9 390: cheaper, warmer, not that good OCable, FreeSync, not power efficient, has really 8GB without bullsh*t.
Benchmark-wise, both are quite similar under normal conditions.

I would pay more attention to this GSync or FreeSync stuff instead of the other stuffs, since this will influence your choice of monitor.

honestly I had a r9 390x and got 2 gtx 970s in sli . even though the r9 39x is more powerful than the gtx 970 but amd has driver issues , how can any1 use amd when it stops and recovers constantly ? where NVidia drivers run smooth ?
