Pretty much have made up my mind to do a new build and have decided to go with an Intel Core i5-6600K which seems to be the sweet spot with the 1151s. The new build be used for everyday use and gaming. It will be on at least 8 hours a day between me and my wife. I have been building PC's over the last 20 years so I have seen plenty of issues and handled them with ease.

The parts I have picked out so far.

I have a new 250 GB Samsung Evo SSD for Windows 10 64 pro and a new 1 TB Western Digital drive for storage.
Will be going in the case from my signature.

Requirements for the board are
Ad a M.2 drive latter on
Durability would like to get a least 2 to 3 years of use out of it on a mild overclock with out any major issues.
At least 3 if not more system fan headers.
Price $175 to $250 will keep us in budget.
Basically a good if not great upper tier mid grade board.

I looking for some ideas for a board from those of you that have recently built a rig with about the same specs I'm looking at. Thanks guys all ideas would be appreciated.

After doing some research geofelt is right no need for DDR4 3000 so I'll just get the same Gskills @ 2400 and add another set. Was reading there is to many issues with the Z170 chipsets and higher ram speeds anyhow. So head ache one is gone. Thanks geofelt.

I'm down to two choices for a good motherboard.

Thanks to geofelt
(1.20v 2400 speed is plenty.)
Were able to spend a little more on a board.

Choices and reasons.

1.ASUS SABERTOOTH Z170 MARK 1 LGA http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132639
I have a friend who has been using a ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 and overclocking the dickens out of it on a custom water cooler and its still going strong after 3 years of use. Board is pretty much bullet proof. Only I issue is the upgrade to a M.2 drive and the front guards will have to come off. This means a complete tear down when the time comes. May just go ahead now and get a Samsung 250 GB M.2 now and be done with it.

2. ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII HERO http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132565
seen it has memory issues with higher speeds getting it to post but after a bios flash with 1 Stick of DDR4 2400 it should be fine. I always flash the bios this way if it needs it on a new build before any drives or windows is installed. So I'll be good to go on this board.
