Hi all, So I have been having an issue with my GTX card the last week. I have a Palit GTX 670 on a p8z77-v board with a 750 watt power supply running windows 10. Last sunday on trying to boot my computer, it froze at the windows loading screen. The blue windows logo and timer dots. The keyboard dies and the mouse dies too.
I found that if I took the GTX card out and used the onbard graphics all was good. The system would boot into windows.
To try to fix I removed all nvidia drivers and apps using UDD in safe mode. System would still boot.
I then reinstalled the card, system would not boot!
I then left the card in and booted into safe mode. System would boot and load into windows safe mode using the gtx card as display driver.
I installed just the nvidia driver nothing else. System would not load into windows. But it would in safe mode!
I bought a new GTX 970 card to try this and exactly the same problem and issues.
Will boot into safe mode and not into normal windows mode.
Someone please help! I have not idea what is happening or going on and I cant find any help anywhere. No solution works so far.
I will provide any info that is needed, I just want to get my system back working at full chat again!
Many thanks in advance for all assistance.

The 6GB, I assume in a 2x4, 2x1 config, could be not working together correctly, or it could be as simple as switching the slots around if that is the cause.

yes, every time in safe mode. Could it be the mobo going?

If it works perfectly in safe mode, it's likely that some sort of software is preventing it from booting. Try using DDU and install a different version of the Nvidia drivers.

Unfortunately its an existing system with 4 years of programs and settings installed and running. It had an upgrade to win 10 from 7 with no issues last year.
All my files and folders are stored on separate drives so that is all secure. I learnt that lesson long ago. However I really dont want to wipe and start again if I can help it!! There is always something that is missed and lost.
