So I read a review on Johnny Guru on my power supply. A full point was deducted because the PSU had a sleeve bearing fan on it. So I have two questions:

1. Is it really a big deal?

2. Can I replace the fan in the future via opening my power supply and taking out the sleeve bearing fan?

Solution
Depending on the fan quality. I have had some sleeve fans run for years and others die in months running in a horizontally position(the way a psu fan faces.)

Sleeves are used because they are more quiet(at a cost of lifespan). Please note that many other bearings are variations of sleeves to give them a longer life.

If it is from a reputable manufacturer I would not worry too much. You can certainly replace it in the future(I have replaced plenty of PSU fans.).

Well if Rosewill is a reputable manufacturer then awesome. But I will tell you the PSU is a Photon 750, because most of the PSU's made by Rosewill, specifically the Sirfa PSUs usually suck.

Unfortunately like many power supply makers they range from pretty bad to pretty good.

Even the reviewer seems to indicate he has had the same fan running in an entertainment stand for years. It it counts for anything I had a globe golf 120mm sleeve bearing fan in my media center for at least 3 years of 24/7 operation before it started to grind. This is was in the worse case horizontal position too.

With normal use it may last for a long time(and worst case in general it is replaceable if it fails after warranty).

Certainly not off the bat, hell I can't even find a 135mm fan on newegg that's ball bearing. If the fan breaks though, no way am I spending 80 dollars on a new Photon.
