Do i need to buy another windows or can i use my old windows with the disk

I am planning on building a low budget PC and just noticed that i need a OS. I was wondering if i can use my old OS disk into my new motherboard.

If it's not being usied in another rig, more than likely yes. What OS and is it storebought or did it come with a prebuilt

MS has been rather lax the last few years even with purchased OEM licenses, if it's not in use on a rig

I have another one which is windows 8 i believe and it's prebuilt i can keep reusing it if it's on a disk?
