First of all, you must go to the motherboard support site, or find your Manual to see what each slot supports for memory.
The TOTAL memory supported is another quick indicator. Just divide that by the number of slots (apparently four).
If you can do it with TWO slots then that's recommended (and see manual for which slots to use).
