Hi,

I have a 650w EVGA PSU with two 8pin slots titled VGA 1 and VGA 2.

I have an MSI Radeon R9 380 with two 6pin slots.

Here's where I'm confused....

I have one cord that has an 8pin on one end (therefore I'm assuming it goes into the PSU). But on the the other end is two 6pins. Do I plug in both the 6pins into the two 6pin slots or do I only need to plug in one of the 6pins into one of the 6pin slots. Also, one of the 6pins on this end has a two-pin attached to it so I have the option of plugging it into an 8pin slot...

Thanks.....

Yes alot of the new psu's come with 6pin plugs with 2pin's on the edge that are seperated to give you the option to make it into an 8pin. I would tell you go ahead and plug both of those 6 pin's into your card. But just to be safe is there any way you can send some pictures, i want to be very sure before i tell you to do that so you dont fry your card, although im pretty sure that it wont hurt anything.

Sure, here are some links that show good pictures of my parts:

This link shows the PSU VGA1 and VGA2 ports: http://techreport.com/news/28464/evga-shrinks-the-supernova-g2-psu-to-550w-and-650w

This link shows the MSI Radeon R9 380 with two 6pin slots: https://www.google.com/search?q=EVGA+SuperNOVA+G2+650W+80%2B+Gold&biw=1666&bih=916&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjN5PS59uTKAhXJgj4KHWe6ACwQ_AUICCgD#tbm=isch&q=MSI+Radeon+R9+380+4GB+&imgrc=waN8l-5sJn10JM%3A

To be clear, you think its ok to plug into both 6pin slots on the graphics card, and into the VGA1 slot on the PSU? I don't have to plug anything into the VGA2 slot in the PSU? Thanks!
