upgrading graphics card/s

You have a few things to consider. Firstly, three GTX 480s are going to draw a lot of power, so you're going to need a beefy power supply and you also need to consider that your utility bill will go up. Then you have to look at your motherboard and make sure that you have 3 PCIe x16 slots AND that your motherboard supports SLI. If it's a budget board, then I doubt it.
That motherboard only supports Crossfire, not SLI. So you could hook up multiple AMD cards, but it's not going to work with NVidia GTX 480's. And according to this:

@jaso, I'm not trying to take over this issue, as it seems @imrazor has you well covered. But perhaps you could tell us what you're trying to achieve. For example: Play Fallout 4 with 1080p display @ 60 FPS. It would also be very helpful if you listed your full specs.
