Hi,

I've never done anything to do with crossfire before. I currently have a...
XFX Radeon R9 290 DD Edition Graphics Card (4GB, GDDR5)

Am i only able to crossfire with another of the same card or could I use something like this?
XFX Radeon R9 390 DD Edition Graphics Card (8 GB, GDDR5)

I also have a 750 Watt PSU supporting an I7, 3 hard Drives and my r9 290. Will I have to upgrade this as well to facilitate the crossfire?

Thanks,
Jordan

Solution
850W is the minimum recommended wattage for 390's in crossfire to be safe as they typically run at 725W which would be cutting it close.

What's your system and what PSU do you have? It could work but it really depends.

Okay thanks,
So just to confirm, I could run a R9 390 DD and a r9 390 DD?
Would I have to upgrade my 750 Watt Power supply to compensate for the extra card?

Thanks,

That's pretty much a waste of money to be honest, unless you can sell the other 390.

Ok thanks, Am I just wasting my money buying another card then?

I have a Corsair Builder Series CXM 750W Modular 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX/EPS PSU

So Really I should upgrade that?

Yep you should, see if you can get a 1000W if you want lots of OC headroom, if you have a CPU like the 6600K then it will run at 850W with both cards at stock just fine. (Although just not that efficient as a 1000W)
