I have upgraded my OS to Windows 10. I have been using generic printer cartridges for a few years now as HP originals too expensive, use an HP 4400 Photosmart all in one. I am getting 'incompatible cartridge' messages and can no longer print. Any ideas?

If that's the case then most likely the updated driver (which you never installed before) locks out third party ink. Might as well just switch back to certified ink.

If you somehow print enough that the cost of new ink will be greater than the cost of a new printer, consider upgrading to http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/jsp/Product.do?sku=C11CE92201&UseCookie=yes . No more cartridges to worry about.

Thanks, so what do i do now?
It does copies, but wont print a doc from the laptop. I have uninstalled, re installed and still get the same message. So throw away the printer? and buy new one OR buy original HP cartridges which would be double the price!!
