Hi there,

So I recently built my first PC (specs to follow) and it's been working perfectly for watching movies/skype/internet etc. It's also had no problems with any kind of low end game - specifically "Banished" and "Plants and Zombies" lol. However, whenever I start playing anything a bit more intense, it works fine for about 10-30 minutes, and then freezes. I have to manually power it down, it doesn't do it by itself. I don't get any error messages or BSOD, just freezes. The games it's happened on so far are - "Shogun: Total War", "Fallout 4", "Portal 2" and "Star Wars: Force Unleashed 2".

Just one thing to note off the cuff - I'm not sure how to get my PC to show the temperatures etc whilst I'm playing, but I do have the BIOS set to make a sound when the CPU overheats and that sound has never happened.

Specs:
MOBO: Gigabyte Intel H170-D3HP
CPU: Intel i5-6600K 3.5Ghz
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212X
RAM: Crucial DDR4 2133 Mt/s 4Gbx2
GPU: GeForce GTX 970
PSU: ANTEC 80+ BRONZE 550W
HDD: WD 1Tb Blue
SSD: Crucial BX200 240Gb

If there's any more you need to know, please ask!
Thanks in advance for any help!

I'm not overclocking at all. The app was great; I'm using it to continue checking temperatures now and will report if there's anything strange.
How do I check if XMP is enabled?

OK, so I went into the BIOS. When I highlighted "Advanced Memory Settings" it said that's what I use to configure XMP profiles. However, when I entered that section, there was nowhere for me to check them. I've got "System Memory Multiplier", "Memory Boot Mode", "Memory Enhancement Settings" and "Memory Timing Mode". I'm assuming it's none of them?
