I've been hearing that you can't overclock the i5-4460S due to "watchdog" or something like that.

My little gaming rig runs the 4460S with a R9 390, which is just fine. But, it wouldn't hurt to OC the CPU, right?

If its possible, does anybody know where to find a good how-to? I haven't been able to find a 4460S specific guide yet.

Solution
1) It WILL hurt to overclock, especially if you don't do it right. Even doing it right will slowly kill your CPU, doing it wrong can cut the chip's life down to zero in some cases.
2) NEVER overclock S or T chips even if you can, they aren't made for it
3) The 4460S likely isn't holding back your 390.
4) If you really want to overclock after all that, go buy a Z97 board and 4690k or 4790k

Thanks! As my first rookie build, I got the S (S for SUPER?)...

No, I thought I was being smart by buying a stock Lenovo E73 and throwing a graphics card into it. Turns out I had to replace almost everything, so what was the point...

In any case, thanks for the deets!
