Air cooled build with Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo. Temps running at idle.
i7 4790k 36°C
GTX 980 35°C

It's my back fan giving off a weird buzzing sound. I don't know how else to describe it. Dusted out my tower two weeks ago and checked for any loose fans. I've had that problem before but this sound is different. Not sure what to make of this. Just started happening tonight.

If you think its a gromet issue you could use a dab of rtv on it. after it drys it will peel right off if you ever need to move or replace the fan.

Try taking the fan off the case, but keep it plugged in, and then start the computer up. See if it still makes the noise.

I'm thinking that it some how keeps getting loose because of a missing rubber grommet. Months later and it's still going strong.. Some days it will start up again but I open up the case and make sure it's mounted properly.
