Hi,
i m using windows 7 currently and i want to install Ubuntu on my system along with with windows so i want free space to install but i have only unallocated space in my system how do i create free space for installing Ubuntu. The disk mgmnt in Windows system shows only 350MB in primary partition. While installing ubuntu it shows 450GB as unusable. whereas only 195 GB should be shown.

Solution
If space is unallocated it must first have a partition created on it, then the partition formatted, before data can be written to it.

You can create the partition and format it in the Windows Disk Management console:

Control Panel >> Admin Tools >> Computer Management >> Disk Management

Right-click the unallocated space and choose Create new simple volume.
When new volume has been created, right-click on it and choose Format.
