So I'm no expert on computers but I came across a virus and ran the usual scan... But I've noticed a huge decrease in speed and everything else. So one day I was playing an online game and it just went blank on me, (this is where everything went down hill). I was in a Skype call and my network connection just started acting up but I was was only on my computer. The Internet was fine on everything else. Ever since then my computer has became the slowest thing ever.. Freezing up if I open stuff.. Errors left and right when I open apps. I can't even do anything now. I tried to factory reset but I get an error that says my c drive has been affected and I can't do anything until I fix it. When I try to "remove everything and reinstall windows" an error pops up on my screen. At this point it's running so bad that I can't even go to the top right of my screen to search anything. I need help asap. Any advice is helpful!!!!

Solution
Looks like you need to nuke your system entirely, losing all files and software for the sake of security. Simply go to another computer and make a Windows 8 installer using http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media. Turn off the infected computer and plug in the USB (or DVD) and go to the advanced options to remove all partitions and reformat the disk entirely.

Solution

1) Do NOT message me about solutions to open threads. Simply reply to the thread.
2) Just follow the directions at the link I gave you and chose the advanced options and delete the existing partitions first (and make a new one after that).
3) If you can't follow the on-screen instructions properly, http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/clean-install has a simple method.

IN my opinion you should format your System to completely remove viruses from your C Drive.
After formatting also perform full system scan to ensure that, there are no any viruses remaining in your system.

From a security aspect, it should be the FIRST step, cleaning only if absolutely necessary. If you need to save data, you should use an external disk and linux livedisk, bypassing Windows entirely to avoid spreading the virus. Scan the data in linux, and then only attach the disk to a windows machine once you have a proper anti-virus software working (kaperskey, norton internet security, bitdefender, etc)

this is not a difficult removal.dont make it any more complex than it is.its adware, nothing more.those that dont understand malware format.those that do get rid of it.my xp os was up and running without format for over 5 years.my win7 for about the same.op,its your choice.by the way,a good av is only part of your security solution.no one program is going to keep you safe, but rather a layered approach is the best.
