HDMI to TV, should I remove DVI?

To elaborate, I'm planning on purchasing a long HDMI cable to connect my PC's GPU to the television to play games, but I was wondering if I should remove my GPU's connection to my computer monitor via DVI. The reason I was wondering this is because I was afraid that the GPU might use more power or put more stress on it if it outputs to two devices at the same time (TV and monitor).

Thanks in advanced for upcoming replies.

My GPU is a GTX 970

there will be no increase per se. the GPU has to render the screen already, mirrirong allows it to copy without having to redraw. You can extend the monitors ala primary and secondary. mirroring I assumed would be the ideal solution based on the information at hand. mirroring would just allow you to open game turn on tv and play.
Just to put your mind at ease a little. the gtx 970 is designed to handle 4 screens simultaneously. and that is each screen rendered seperately, not just duplicated like on the mirror scenario.
this is like blinking for the GPU.

Thanks for the fast replies guys

Question, is screen mirroring necessary? Is that what I should do If I'm planning on gaming on the Television instead of the monitor? Will that decrease the small increase in workload on the gpu?
