I have an AMD FX-8350 stock cooler and It's idle temp is 50-60c and it maxes 80-85c when playing games. I thought it may be the thermal paste so I replaced it and turns out the old paste was REALLY dried up. I cleaned it off and applied new Arctic Silver paste about a pea size amount and let it idle and browsed the web for a couple hours to let the paste spread out and the temps are still really high. Another (separate) problem is my computer turns itself off when I play COD: Bo3 so I figured the CPU was getting too hot and shutting it off. Haven't had any crashes yet though.
EDIT : played a match of Bo3 for some more testing and my temps are definitely lower average 70-75 with a max of 80 but still very high.
