Pc keeps shutting down whilst playing Xcom 2

Hi there. Recenty my computer has been turning off after playing Xcom 2 for a couple hours.
Has never done it before, recent build only about 5-6 months old. A few times its said the asus anti-sure has kicked in but not every time. Thanks in advance

I7 4790k
gtx 980
psu - hx7501
16gb ram
windows 10

You've got a very good PC.

Far more than enough for this game. So I think there's some kind of compatibility issue.

Try turning off / disabling the asus anti-surge. And seeing if your pc does the same thing.
don't do it if your household experiences power surges frequently.

But I think this anti-surge thing is your issue.
See if your pc still shuts down with it disabled. :)

If not, let me know and we can try something else.

iv never experienced any other power surges in my house before. is it safe to turn off the anti surge if its actually correct though? As in, if it is a faulty psu, wont turning the anti surge off and it happening again potentially ruin parts of my pc?

Its now doing it randomly, not just during gaming.
Iv updated mobo bios
Unplugged and replugged all psu cables, none seem damaged
Ran anti virus and anti malware
Tested several different power points

I dont know what else to do
