Greetings!
Ok let me get to the point, I have the following build:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/CF87zy
W10 and a 700W bronze rated PSU (CPU is OC-ed to 4.3Ghz)
Thing is. I'm a MMO player for the most part, and the FX IPC is rather lacking, bottlenecking my gpu to 20-40% with a lot of players around and I already improved everything I could by software(yes I didn't know that much about PC's back when I built it)
Right now I have the money for a 6600k (I plan on reusing the other parts)
and the following motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132571&cm_re=asus_z170-p-_-13-132-571-_-Product
Which leads me into the following questions:
1.Is this motherboard decent for overclocking if I make sure to properly cool the CPU?(VRM's worry me the most)
2.Future-proofing, how long should I expect this CPU to last?
3. Would this motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132572&cm_re=asus_z170-p-_-13-132-572-_-Product
compromise futureproofing or even degrade my experience (would save me about 100 dollars in my country since I'd re-use but undervolt the RAM.+price difference)
4.Waiting, rumors about zen and skylake refresh/cannonlake might bring more performance/$ or drop the prices or just try my luck with easter sales?
I know this topic is rather subjective but I want to hear other people opinions since my screw-up with the FX6300.

Solution
The 6600K is about future proof as any processor is likely to be. Getting 4 or 5 years out of one seems reasonable based on how long older i5's have remained viable. They are very easy to overclock, and just about any Z170 board can overclock them to the 4.4 to 4.6 range. I would sell the DDR3 and go ahead and make the switch to DDR4, it will be around for awhile.

The PSU is corsair, I thought about a 4690k but the price difference for each and a motherboard is less than 20 dollars in my country making the only important factor here the ram which I'm willing to pay for.
