I begun a full hdd wipe with dBan and saw the time that needs to finish and it's not worth it, if I stop the process is it risky?

Problem is there's not a lot of feedback in web about pass times... Well from my exp now 1TB = 5hrs a pass...

Can't I just power off and go for a simple format from windows disc from what you are saying? Read in web that's the only way to cancel, but...

I disagree. I've wiped disks for customers probably a hundred times. Stopping a wipe before it's done will not harm your drive. When you install Windows it has a reformatting feature as part of the install. There is absolutely zero risk in stopping a wipe before it is finished. The only problem it would cause is that part of the disk didn't get wiped.
