Hello,

Right now I have this pretty old pc:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2.4GHZ)
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB
RAM : 4GB DDR2
Windows 10

I use it for gaming but obviously not new generation games. I upgraded my GPU around 2012 and I know it is old too, but right now if I plan to buy a new GPU, first I need to upgrade my even older CPU. Right now, my budget is around 500 dollars. I was thinking of going with an Intel i5-6600, H170 mobo and 8 GB RAM of DDR4. I just want to play most games at decent graphics, not anything crazy.

Should I wait or just go with it?
Also, any other suggestions would be welcome.
Thank you.

In terms of your CPU and board, go ahead. My recommendation would be to wait for Pascal in terms of GPUs so you have more options. That's a very solid list for your needs.
