My processing unit is an intel i7 4710mq 2.5 ghz. My GPU is Geforce GTX 860m. My frame rate whilst playing woolfe red hood diaries was 7 fps whether or not the settings were low or medium.
I have 8 GB RAM.

From this very basic info can you tell what the problem might be? Ive read the 4710mq is a decent processor so I assume its the GPU. Of course that is a dangerous assumption.

Opinions?

How long have you had the laptop for? Those are good specs and I would assume more than anything your laptop is getting too hot and causing itself to thermal throttle. Download GPUz or CPUz from techpowerup.com and cpuid.com, respectively. Track if your clock speeds are dropping under load. If that's the case your cpu and/or gpu is thermal throttling. If it's under warranty I would see about getting it cleaned. If not I would look up a guide for opening your specific model and cleaning out all the dust. Think about reapplying thermal paste at this time too as yours has likely gotten old.
