I have a HP Compaq Presario SR2034NX desktop. Power is fie, fan spins fine but all i get is a black screen. I see that when i connect the LAN cable, the amber light comes on but solid, not blinking like it normally did before. There is not BEEP when I turn it on.

Will it be the motherboard or the processor?

Thank You for your prompt response. I all honesty, I am not a Computer savvy. I know my way around a little but the PC is as it came from factory, except that I replaced the PS about 3 years ago. Other than that, everything came from factory. I believe it is onboard graphics (not 100% sure). When I power it up, I do not see anything in the monitor. It does not react at all. I see the power light in the front of the PC and the DVD light flashes green for a couple of secs. That is it, no beeps, no nothing. I also see the Amber light when i reconnect the LAN cable, but it is solid. It does not blink like it did before.

I even replaced the PS an hour ago. Still the same. How do I make sure I have onboard graphics? I am not too good with PCs but i a sure I can follow any directions.
If it is not power related, what should I do next, replace the MB?

Thanks again,

Did exactly what you said and still the same results. Power kicks in, nothing happens, monitor stays sleep.

Any other ideas?

Help is very much appreciated...

Before I took out the Cmos, I replaced the PSU and still did the same thing. So, I went ahead and put the old one back. I bought the current one about 3 years ago. Should I replace it with the new one to see if it makes any difference now that I reset the CMos?
