Just recently upgraded to the ASRock Z170 Extreme 7+ with an i7 6700K with G.Skill 3200 (4x4gb) at 1.35 v.

So, I have windows 10 installed and have a nice up to date clean install. Installed Acronis 2010 and made a backup image of my operating system like I have done many times in Windows 7.

Here's the problem, when booting to the Acronis disk to re-intall the saved image to say, another drive, I have no mouse capabilities. I have tried (3) USB mouses, (1) wireless USB Mouse and even dug out two old PS/2 mouses (one ball type and one optical type). This board has one outlet on the back of it for PS/2 mouse/keyboard, but does not seem to be taking either of the mouses??

when using the PS/2 mouse in the Bios it acts like a Tab button or something....very strange.

So, in a nut shell...I have a saved Aconis Image that I cannot map to another drive because I can't get a dang mouse to work...any thoughts?

thanks,

mw

Solution
fist do a little test, see if the UEFI option in your bios is enabled to the boot cd if yes then disable and test again. if you still have no usb mouse, plug the mouse in an usb 2.0 port and test again.

not sure if I know how to do that...can you elaborate a little further with maybe a few instructions...I know just enough to be a little dangerous.
Would upgrading to a later edition of Acronis help, say True Image 2016...It might have better drivers built into it?
