I am looking to buy a second graphics card to display 1 or 2 more monitors running @ 60hz and 1080 p and to let my GTX 970 power my 144hz 1080p monitor. How much vram would you guys suggest to power 1 60hz display in 1080p? I would be using the 60hz displays for youtube, netflix, ect.

Ah, i assumed i could just get a second cheapo card to power the second monitor and would be able to both graphics cards at the same time without the SLI connection. So for this example. gtx 970 for the 144hz monitor and a 2gb graphics card for the secondary 60hz monitor. I would not be able to throw these both in a PC and use both cards at the same time?

So the non 144hz monitor/s will not be for gaming? Just web browsers etc? If so then yes, you can put a cheap card in and not SLI it to power extra monitors. Assuming your motherboard supports more than 1 GPU. Although you can probably use your onboard graphics for this, what motherboard/CPU do you have?
