I'm looking to purchase the following parts for a PC build that will be ready/capable of maxing out games for virtual reality headsets (oculus/vive). I already have a suitable PSU and case.

Intel i5-6600K 3.5GHz
Cooler Master Hyper T4
MSI B150l Gaming PRO
Crucial 8GB DDR4
Seagate 1TB Hybrid HDD
MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB

I know that this build is already very expensive (AUD around $1,822), so I was wondering if there may be anywhere I can cut back, or if anyone has any feedback in general on how I could improve/make this build more cost effective. Thanks in advance!

The best way to cut back is to let me make a whole other build, sadly, lol. If it were in PC Part Picker, I'd be able to edit it, though. What I did was change the CPU to a non-K because it seems you have no interest in overclocking, RAM to 16GB as the Oculus Rift is RAM hungry, and downed the GPU slightly. It is the "better" tier option for VR according to Nvidia compared to a GTX970. The 980Ti would be overkill as well as a lot of $ extra.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($295.00 @ Umart)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper T4 70.0 CFM Rifle Bearing CPU Cooler ($33.00 @ Umart)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B150M-HD3...
