I have 1 corsair 8GB/DDR3 stick in Intel DB85FL. Should I buy same stick or buy same model in 4X2 modules ? The speed latency and MHz are same. Also advise where should i populate them in my mother board to get best results. Many thanks in advance.....

Thanks for your kind words...:)

Yes, I would recommend a 8+8 dual channel setup instead of 8+4+4 configuration even though 3 rams would run in "triple channel configuration", which hardly translates into real world performance gain. Also two low capacity rams blocks 2 slots. But if you upgrade to 8+8+8 architecture in future, the additional memory would benefit you much more.

It is never recommended to populate the RAM slots with lower size memory modules for acquiring that much hyped dual channel config. The real world difference between single channel and dual channel configurations is not much (especially in games and general purpose computing) and you are leaving lesser headroom for upgrade .

If it is dual channel that you seek, you can always add another 8Gb and it will be a worthwhile dual channel setup.

Solid copy Dear Friend....So I am going ahead for 8+8 only and I believe that, 16 gigs would be "Enough" memory for my gaming rig. Actually I play - FSX most of the time with plenty of add on and my previous 8 GB (transcend) with 1333 Mhz speed have failed many times to perform despite my CPU is i 7-4770, 3.5Ghz..( as FSX is CPU sensitive) and I think instead of changing the Nvidia GT640-2G I should first start with RAM replacement....And trust me I have tried and tested all good tweaks being shared for OOMS to uiautomationcore.dll. Nothing worked. When FSX freezes I see that available RAM is only few MBs out of 8 !!! So I think up gradation of the RAM as a remedy.

Again I am really thankful to you Serioussamik:)
