I'm not very good at explaining and I have little knowledge about PC's in general so any advice I receive that can be dumbed down is greatly appreciated. So for a while now my PC's been crashing after 3-15 minutes of regular use and gaming use. My dad and I took it to get it checked out. Apparantly it was riddled with viruses but was fortunately cleaned. I got it back about a week ago and I'm experiencing the exact same thing from before and it's basically in the exact same state it was before but everything is wiped. I did some experiments and searching online about trying to find out what's causing it. I found out that every time I turned on m pc I would open google chrome, and found out that if I don't open chrome and use explorer or nothing at all the PC doesn't freeze. I haven't taken the time to see actually how long it would take to freeze again but so far it hasn't froze at all. I downloaded steam and downloaded CS:GO and I tried playing but froze immediately on the loading screen, I had to hold the power button and turn it off. The keyboard and mouse was frozen as well.I continued doing this and it seems every time I played the game it would add 20 seconds more but ultimately freezes after a bit in-game. I tried it with different games like garry's mod and TF2, these lasted longer but still had the same effect. My dad doesn't really tell me anything when he was checking out for himself and lectured me about going on sketchy sites. In 16 and he is kind of a know it all and just let me handle. Like a stubborn brick wall. So I have to be skeptical of sites that could be suggested. Before I've had a laptop and this is my first actual desktop and it saddens me to not be able to have fun with it.
Also I have Windows 8, when we've tried to install Windows 10 it goes to about 98% when it's installing in the restart restart screen and just freezes or crashes from there. My dad says it's missing some drivers I think but I'm not sure on how to get them or check which ones are missing.
I'm writing this ask on my phones night so I can't check what the specs are and everything. However, any insight on what could be causing the problem is greatly appreciated.
Again sorry, my ability to structure clear and understandable sentences is lacking.
