Hi I've just started doing my first CPU build and decided to go for liquid cooling with the Kraken.

One pipe is practically touching the fan, will this cause a problem?

Has any one got any advice?

"Practically touching" isn't the same as "touching" :) I have built several computers wit the NZXT Kraken models - usually the X41.

Since the X41 is smaller, I usually mount it at the rear, venting out that way.

In this instance, I'm wondering if you re-orient the radiator with the reservoir at the front if that will ease your mind? Otherwise just use a zip-tie to hold the pipes a little so they wan't move and touch the fan. You shouldn't have an issue either way.

Haha okay, was kinda paranoid that the fan might eventually wear away at it. I'll try using zip-ties before moving it as it was a little bit annoying to screw down in the first place :p

oh heck, if it actually touches, firstly the noise would drive you insane. If it touches a little more, it might stop the fan. Lastly, yea you really don't want to have something scraping along the hoses all the time, that won't be good.

Use the zip-tie and pull the pipes a little to the side. to the left rear of the case when looking from behind seems to be workable from what I can see from the image.

Yeah ill try that.

I was thinking though if I rotated the heat-sink part anti clock-wise till the words showed up in the correct place wouldn't that drag the pipe a lot more in the case?

I'm not really sure that I understand. In the image, the logo "NZXT" on the pump appears in the correct orientation.

Also, removing the pump/heatsink from the processor is cumbersome, since it involves cleaning off the old paste and re-applying new paste as well as a lot of fiddling around the processor - my least fovorite jobs inside a case, since it has some of the highest risk.

Another thought. if you could somehow put a wire tie or something between the down-facing and up-facing tubes, could you slightly pull the loop tighter and so pull the pipes away from the fan?

Guess so, would mean me needing to purchase some paste :/ I'll give these idea's a go when I get home from work and put up a new pic :p
