When I try to click on the windows start, nothing works. I have to reboot it each time, this happens quite frequently. It's quite annoying,

Solution
We're going to need a whole lot more info on this.

Specific parts list
What OS?
What was the last thing you did before this started happening?

Actually I wasn't doing anything, I came in to the computer office and tried to open my incredimail, and nothing happened, and I couldn't even get the start to come on, cortana wouldn't work, this is an on going problem, it occurs 2-3 times a day. Likes I said before, I was doing absolutely nothing.

I'm sorry, but there is nothing else to tell you. I can leave my computer for hours and when I get ready to use it again it will not work. I have windows 10 and wonder if the problem is that. I never had this problem before with windows 7. I can play games, etc. but nothing else works. I don't do that much with most things since I am still learning windows 10, which I must tell you, I'm sorry I downloaded it. That's about all the information I can give you. If there is not solution I guess I will just have to keep doing it. I do not put the sleep on and never have, I do not shut down either. Please help,,,,,,,,

There isn't another thing that I can tell you. It's just like it died and for no reason. I am seldom working on the computer, usually to check mail etc. I can leave for just a while or for longer and when I return I have to reboot it. It has a mind of it's own, so I guess I am just in for a lot of rebooting.

I'm sorry that you cannot find a solution to my problem, again all I can tell you is that it freezes, I hope that is the correct definition. I usually am no where near it when it does this. I am not doing a thing on it. When it does this, as I've said numerous times, I have to reboot, and by the way I hate the welcome page.

At this point, it could be hardware or software.

Hardware - RAM, underpowered PSU, dying HDD, anything
Software - bad OS install, failed update, malware...

I hesitate to suggest any 'fix', because it could be anything. But we have little to go on here.

I did run a check of some sort and naturally now I can't remember what it was. Hopefully it will have fixed the problem. I guess I will just have to watch it, and then maybe a 'fix' will have to be performed. I have had windows 10 now for at least 2 months and have only noticed this problem in the last week or so. Maybe that will help give you insight as to what the problem might be.

If I were you, I revert to Win7. Isn't there an W10 UNDO option? (I don't know).

Generally speaking, most troubles are software related, but I am not there, can't give you a guarantee.

For future reference, anytime you want to do something big, like updating to a new OS, may wanna get into the habit of doing an OS Image Backup. This way, anything wrong, just restore the "working" image and everything would be back as if was perfect before.
