I'm on a 1000$ budget for a pc (no peripherals) and I was wondering if this build is good mostly for gaming

Corsair Carbide series Spec-2 mid
tower gaming case
Intel i5 6600k lga 1151
Windows 10 software
Crucial ballistix sport Ram 2 4gb fam sticks
asus ultra atx DDR3 2600 motherboard z170m-E D3
Samsung b-222 internal drive
1tb hard drive
Samsung 120 Gb ssd
MSI computer graphics card gtx 960 gaming 4g
Cooler master hyper 212 evo cpu cooling fan
TP-link tl-wdn4800 (I can only use wifi at the moment)

Solution
You can overclock that set up as well. Performance will be almost identical at the same speeds.

I wouldn't use the RAM you have, Intel says to use DDR3L with Skylake CPU's. That PSU is really not recommended for a gaming system, either. I changed a couple of things which would overall net you much beter gaming performance.
