hey, i have a i7 6700k with s noctua nh-d15. On idle i am getting about 14-18 degrees on the cores when the room temperature is about 20-24 degrees. It is the same temps in HWmonitor and HWinfo64. In AIsuite 3 it shows 24-25 degrees.

The cpu is not overvlocked. In Prime95 version 26,6 i am getting max 64 degrees, On aida64 with cpu and fpu enabled i am getting max 70 degrees. I guess it is alright. I want to overclock too, but i already have high temps, so i might not do that because of the high temps.

The thermal paste is the right amount i think.

All comments is appreciated.

With certain CPUs, the sensor doesn't read properly at low temperatures. Many AMD processors have that characteristic, and the fact that AIsuite 3 is showing a different temperature makes me think it's the same situation. In any case, as long as your temperature is acceptable when you stress it, you shouldn't worry about idle temps being low. That being said, if you reach 64 degrees in Prime95 small FFTs test, your CPU will probably stay below 50C for even the most intense gaming. Also, I'm pretty convinced that you won't ever be doing tasks that require the Floating-Point Unit to be used for more than a couple of seconds, so it shouldn't be enabled.

I got 58 degrees in battlefield 4, and i really want to overclock later on, so i want a good chip. In aida64 with fpu enabled i got 70 degrees. I have tried to fix this temperature problem for a long time now. Is there a way that i can get a new chip you think? Are you working in intel ?
