Cant get packet of ink cartridges to move over so I can lift cover to change ink. screen says ink low. No matter what button I push screen says operation invalid. I have turned machine off and on, unplugged it,, tried to reset it. nothing

Solution
Run a test print via the menu or software. See if the ink cartridge assembly will move out and away from being under the edge of the case.

Watch to see if the ink carridge assembly appears jammed.

Do you have the manual for your printer?

Here is a link to the manual but verify that it is for your printer:

https://files.support.epson.com/docid/cpd3/cpd39368.pdf

The reason for the manual is that I am not sure what you referring to as "cover".

See pages 242 and 243 of the manual.

You should be lifting the lid and glass"cover together to get access to the carriage holding the cartridges.

As best I can tell there is nothing in the way of lifting/opening the cartridge cover.

Please clarify. Thanks.

I had the same experience. Epson website doesn't tell you an important step at the very beginning of the process. Before you open the scanner unit cover, you need to start by selecting Setup from the touch screen. Then select Ink Levels. Just below the graphic picture of your ink levels you will see two options, OK and Cartridge(s) Replacement. Select Cartridge(s) Replacement. Your printer will go into cartridge change mode. The touch screen will tell you to open the scanner unit cover. When you open the scanner unit cover, the ink cartridge assembly will have moved out into the middle of the printer, away from the right edge of the printer where you were prevented from opening the cartridge cover. Follow instructions from there at: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?infoType=FAQ&oid=232592&foid=254104

I have done exactly as described below. Cartridge assembly remains under the edge of the case, doesn't move.

After pressing "Cartridge replacement", a screen shows up that says to press the blue button. Press this, and then it will tell u to lift it up and the cartridges will move.
