Hello! I'm getting coil whine on my brand new Asus z170 Pro Gaming board. Booting with only the barest components, I located the noise. I'm 100% sure it's coming from the CPU-socket area on the board. It happens whenever the CPU is under the slightest bit of load. It's not loud, but it worries me since the components are freshly bought.

No HDD or GPU installed. I'm using only the following components.
- Intel i5 6600k (stock settings)
- Samsung EVO 250gb SSD
- Corsair RM650x (brand new today)

I've also tested with the following PSUs:
- OCZ ModXStream Pro 600w
- Corsair RM550x

Lastly, I've tried disabling the following (both singularly and in combination):
- Intel Speedstep
- C-states

The noise persists under the slightest bit of load.

Should I RMA my board?

Solution
Have a Z170 as well, but the only problem have encountered so far is a buzzing sound coming from the GTX 980 have installed and it only happens when the GPU is under 'heavy' load from GPU 'intense' applications.

Thanks for your response. I'm very curious whether other owners of the Asus Z170 Pro Gaming board are experiencing the same. If not, then I should probably RMA my board right?
