Random Gaming Freezes

I've been having freezing issues for a while now. My PC will just completely freeze, and I'll have to reboot it. This has only happened while gaming, to my knowledge. Now, I've tried everything I can find suggested online; I've refreshed my Windows install, I've run system checks, system cleanups, RAM tests, checked CPU and GPU temps at the time of freezing (both at a reasonable temp), cleaned out the case thoroughly to rid the fans etc. of dust, made sure all drivers are up to date, made sure Windows is up to date, checked the event viewer to find nothing. I'm just stumped, and it's frustrating. I can't find anything it could be, and can't think of anything else to do.

Specs:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P
CPU: AMD FX-4350 Quad Core 4.2Ghz
GPU: GeForce GTX 970 MSI
RAM: HyperX Black Series 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM Gaming Memory Module (x1)
PSU: Corsair CX750 Builder Series CX 750W ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Bronze PSU
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Thanks in advance for any help.

Most recently it's happened on Dragon Age: Inquisition (which I've yet to play properly as I rarely get past character creation), Mirror's Edge, Dark Souls II, Darkest Dungeon, Trials Fusion, Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor.

I don't really have access to another GPU to try that, unfortunately. And yes, it is just while gaming, but as I said, the temps of both the GPU and CPU while playing have been fine, as well as the usage of the GPU.

I've just ordered myself a replacement GPU that should arrive tomorrow. I figure even if it turns out that it isn't the issue, at least I have a spare, or I can do SLI in the future if I upgrade my Mobo.

It's Revision 1.0, I'm just going to check the BIOS now.

EDIT: My BIOS is F1, and the most recent is F2j, but when I try to install it, it says it's incompatible with 64 bit Windows.

There was no documentation with the download, so I didn't realise that's how you do it. Do I just put the folder with the files onto a USB, or just put the files on loose?

Okay, new GPU is in. Time to test it. I've put it in the same slot for now, but if the problem persists, I'll move it to the other slot. It's only because I'll have to move my HD around that I didn't straight away.
