Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem, I have just installed a new msi r9 390 the fans are spinning and the light comes on our on my monitor it says no input, when I put it into my motherboard (it uses Intel HD 530 graphics) it works fine. I have a Intel i5 6600k a asus rog maximus hero viii my OS is windows 10. Thank you.

Did you set the motherbd bios to initialize the pcie/peg gpu first?
Otherwise it will initialize the integrated gpu first and treat the 390 as a secondary; leaving you to set it up in windows just like adding a second display would.

With your monitor connected to the onboard video/igpu.
Enter your Bios, On the ADVANCED Tab select GRAPHICS CONFIGURATION. Set the Primary Adapter to Peg. Disable iGPU Multi-Monitor unless you plan on running a second monitor using the iGPU.
Save and exit

Now power off and connect to the R9-390. and then boot back up.

1.Try using the card in an other pc.
2.does your psu have adequate power?
3.try latest crimson drivers
4. If all else fails, RETURN the card. It is dead on arrival. Hope this helps :)

This is going to sound stupid (I did this with almost the same card (msi r9 390x)) but make sure the power cables going from the power supply to your card are connected properly, it IS possible you connected one of these cables backwards and need to reverse it to make your card work (I initially only had one of my cables connected correctly, resulting in the EXACT symptoms your having, ie: the card is lighting up, but display won't work when plugged into the card) good luck!
