Hello all, i want to buy new graphics card and i cant chose between x1 Asus
GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX or x2 Asus GeForce GTX 960 4GB STRIX. I just dont know what is better x1 GTX 970 or x2 GTX 960, so i wanted to ask for some other opinion.
My configuration is:
CPU : AMD FX 8350
Ram: 16gb kingston fury
Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0

Best regards !

I would recommend the GTX970, because you can SLI if you need it later and you're free of the problems that having 2 GPUs brings. Of course you'd probably get marginally improved performances on most games with a GTX960SLI, but at the cost of a shorter lifespan in gaming. Also, if you're going to play in 1080p, the GTX970 is the logical choice right now, a king of price/performance.

@djape

Buy the GTX 970. What is your current power supply mfg and model #? Below are two great options for the GTX 970.

MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G
$304.99 after $20.00 rebate card

EVGA GTX 970 SSC (04G-P4-3975-KR)
$299.99 after $10.00 rebate card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487088

If your power supply is below 500 watts or poor quality, then buy this:

EVGA G2 650
$69.99 after $20.00 rebate card

You might as well purchase this upgraded CPU cooler for your AMD FX-8350, since their stock coolers are notorious for early failure.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
$29.99

RaidMax 850W Gold and use for my cpu thermaltake water 3.0 extreme

@djape, Raidmax PSU's are notoriously bad quality. If it's in the budget, you should consider upgrading it to a better quality unit. If you list the site URL that you order computer components from, I'd be happy to help you pick one out. Otherwise, I recommend that you start putting money aside to upgrade it at some point within the next few months.
