laptop motherboard power button

I have a laptop motherboard without a power button. its an asus motherboard. is there anyway to tell what model it is? how can i turn it on? I found a cable that fits the DC_PWR but it has a usb on the other end. can I use my phone charger to plug it in? or plug it in to a usb port on my computer?

Short the pins where the switch used to be together. Also make sure that power supply has the right voltage and amperage.

Nope, thats something for Bluetooth, I'd guess.

Laptops motherboards are not generic, they are basically custom made for the intended enclosure. Why don't you have a button? What are you doing with a Laptop Mobo without the laptop, if one is too nosy to ask.

Try to look for a stencil with the part# on it and Google.
