My CPU is : http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K8/AMD-Athlon%2064%20X2%206000+%20-%20ADV6000IAA5DO%20(ADV6000DOBOX).html

I found tech docs for 940-pin microPGA :http://support.amd.com/TechDocs/31412.pdf

So pin that broke is : "Anode (+) of the thermal diode"

I haven't tried to start it up yet,but will do soon and am wondering if it works can it damage my mother board?I am guessing thermal diode is that thing that shuts down your computer when cpu starts to overheat and if pin is broken it won't detect it properly and just let it work at high temperature.

I doubt anyone here can tell you with any degree of certainty what the consequence is of breaking off that pin. Your guess is as good as any of us, and it seem your guess is informed and educated. It's unlikely do damage the motherboard. But that's also only a guess.

Really sorry to hear this. I had a similar issue once.

There's a good chance the CPU won't be detected at all (as was my case) and even if it do gets detected the overheating CPU has more chance of killing the CPU itself and no harm will be done to your mobo. Also, the mobo will automatically shit down the CPU if it overheats so absolutely no chance of your mobo getting damage if your CPU works somehow.

Also, you may find this thread interesting:

As you will see, someone mentioned you can get the pin soldered back at a low cost of $5.
