I have a problem with a video card that I've put into my computer. It's an EVGA GTX 260 Core 216 graphics card. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on Intel Celeron 2.6ghz dual core, 2 gb ram.

Problem: Upon installing graphics card, I get video from NEITHER the GPU nor the onboard graphics.
However, when the GPU is removed, visual is reestablished when the computer is powered on. Any help is really appreciated, this is a hassle!

-Did you properly connect the display cable to the GPU port and not into the motherboard port?
-Are all the power cables properly installed on the GPU?

With the graphics card removed, boot into the BIOS. Then check your graphics source. The default is usually Auto. This selects the PCI Express x16 slot when a graphics card is detected. Set the option to the PCI Express x 16 slot and save it when exiting the BIOS.

Then reinstall the graphics card in the primary PCI Express slot. Then start the system. If there is still no video, check that any additional power cables are securely attached. If there is still no video signal, try another slot.

After that , you will need to troubleshoot the card itself. Are there any LEDs lit up? Are the fans on the card spinning? Have you tried different monitor cables?

If the graphics card has no video signal at this point then you may need to clear the CMOS to get back into the BIOS. Then change the video source back to Auto so you can use the video outputs from the motherboard.
