Le montaria one gtx 970 which of these 2 cpu's better spent ?? Thanks!

Solution
The Pentium. The Xeon isn't unlocked so you won't really be able to overclock it. That being said, both will probably be a bottleneck for your 970. You can't know in advance how much you'll be able to overclock a processor, so you can't really predict where you'll end up. You'll also need a better cooler than the stock intel one if you're going to overclock, so you'll have to look into an aftermarket cooler.

According investigate the xeon if you can overclock .. if so I still conveniendo the g3258? I say that the xeon has 4 cores

The G3258 is better even though it's a dual-core. It's 2 cores offer better performances than the Xeon's 4 combined. The only thing you can do on that Xeon is change the Base Clock Frequency a bit, which won't get you far. The Pentium is the only one that can be properly overclocked.

I would definitely choose the new Pentium over that old Xeon.

and the issue of patterns with g3258? This only happens when the CPU is not 100%? 99% if nothing happens?

I'm really sorry, I'm not sure I understand what you mean there. If it's hard for you to translate, I understand Spanish fairly well and it could allow me to understand what you meant.

Ok, quize decir que el pentium g3258 tiene microparones o "stuttering" en algunos juegos cuando se saturan al 100% los cores, cuando los cores esten al 99% habra "stuttering"?

Yeah, that's what I meant by bottleneck, you'll have to lower your graphical settings to prevent your cores from reaching 100% usage, until you can get a better CPU. The same thing would happen on that Xeon, but worse.

I think it depends on what you anticipate will be your future pathway. Are you getting the pentium with a good motherboard and the possibility of a future CPU upgrade? Are you goin to fork out for an aftermarket cooler? The stock cooler can still be OC'd ok but..

The xeon although the architecture is really old does have a 12mb cache vs the 3 on the pentium and the additional cores, which could be advantageous if you don't intend to overclock the pentium high.

But irregardless both CPU's are not rightly paired with a 970. Unless you're just trying for the cheapsst solutiin to get you in the game and if you intend to fork out for a cooler for the pentium then maybe looking at an i5 6400 for a little bit more might be the go. The i5 will be a much better pairing with the 970.

First of all, it is not a big problem to overclock e5450@4Ghz if you've got a good mb based on p35 or p45 chipset, second one is better of course. If you already have a lga775 mb, then you only need to buy good cheap cooler, for example Zalman CNPS10 Optima or similar. Then check you PSU, it must give "true" 450-500W. Kingston kvr 6400 will be good as ddr2 RAM to overclock. The problem of 2 core cpu's, unlike 4-core, is that they will give short freezes in games, as gta5,witcher3, optimized to multicore systems. It is very uncomfortable to play. But you'll have a little bit more fps in 1-2 cores based games, such as WoT without any problems. But truely, I don't have any problems with any games even in 2560x1440. My system: Xeon e5450@4 Ghz, Asus p5q-pro, 8Gb RAM, GTX970 4Gb.
