I was just playing some games, left to go get some food with my roommate and when I came back and hit the power button to turn on the PC nothing happens. I took off the side panel and hit the power button that's on the motherboard and that wouldn't power it on either. When I unplugged the power cord and plugged it in to a different outlet the fans spun for a second or two but then stopped but nothing will power on.

If you get online and check you can find a tutorial to make the psu turn on, https://www.techpowerup.com/articles/other/22, i would not have any components connected and id short the 2 to the left of the latch on the 24 pin power cable so it will the the mobo has told it to turn on, then you can see if its psu or mobo causing the problem, paperclips work great or some other piece of wire.

to complete troubleshooting if you can try your components in a different mobo if its not the psu...

also the same can be said for hooking up a different system to the psu so you can test if it can turn on under a possible load etc.
