my broadband is 1mbps...but i am getting around 75 kbps download speed ...according to a speedtest my download is 60 kbps and upload is 60 kbps...but when my connection was new i was getting 150 down kbps speed and 800 kbps up speed...i was able to watch 1020p vids without buffer smoothly.....but then my speed suddenly dropped i think...1020 p vids now buffers after 2,3 secs and my surfing speed feels like not smooth....am i getting what im paying for?or is it normal/

and i have to metion there was a big maleware ''Snap.do'' in my pc few days ago...i somehow removed it (i belive and that maleware affected my startup speed a bit i think...)..is something infecting my internet speed?..what should i do? is my speed lowering? any help or answer will be appreciated :)

Solution
The speed you are getting does not seem normal for the connection that you have.
It is quite possible that your system, or any other that it is networked with could still have a malware infection and that this is eating into your available bandwidth.
Try getting logs from your ISP to determine if your data usage is normal. For example, if you normally use 10Gb per month and you find that the logs show you are now using 20Gb per month, then you most likely have an infection.
After a heavy malware infection it is advisable to rather do a Windows reinstall to make sure that any effects of the infection are erased and to make sure that there is no "back door" for a re-infection.

*** Internet Speed ***

My first question: Is your connection through WiFi or is it hardwired via an Ethernet cable? Your internet provider is only truly responsible for the wired connection directly to your cable modem, even if they are leasing you the WiFi equipment. I recommend first running the two utilities I've hyperlinked below, to completion. Then I suggest connecting your computer via an Ethernet cable to your cable modem or router; cable modem would be ideal. This is just temporary to test your speed. If you want to know what your speed should be, you could call your provider, or simply check their website for the speed tiers. It's possible that you could get a discernible speed upgrade for an addition $10 a month. It's worth looking into.

*** Infection ***

Was the infection definitely malware? Many people use the term loosely, when in fact it could be a virus or trojan. Regardless, run these utilities (one after the other) to make sure that the infection is removed:

ADWCleaner ( http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ )
Combofix ( http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/combofix/ )

* ADWCleaner should take 5 minutes to run and complete.
* Combofix should take 30 minutes to run and complete.

* Both applications will most likely reboot your computer, so save and close all work, otherwise these programs will close them for you without saving.

k thnx mate :)

After you re-install W8, you can always update to 8.1 through the Windows Store.
There are many good free anti-virus systems around. Personally I go with AVG at this stage, but ask Google.
