Sorry for the previous post should of waited for sleep before posting.
Original post
I am looking at a desperately overdue update.

My funds are limited so I am looking at the following two bundles.

Asus Intel Super Value Bundle £ 94.98
Alternative source
Catalyst Dual Core AMD FM2 3.6GHz 4GB £99.99

My current set up is a Frankenstein mix up of parts that I am surprised it is still running (touch wood). I have not kept up with anything computing for a while, which you will guess by the system I have. It has done its job, which covers a large scope of tasks; photo editing, scanning in photos, streaming tv shows, video editing and playing games.

Games have been, Eve - 2 clients, Space Engineers, 7 Days to Die, The forest, Age of Empires 3, more recently Fallout 4 using ultra low graphics mod.

I was surprised Fallout 4 ran which is it does, it uses almost all of my ram and takes a short while to load. Subsequently I looked at adding some more ram. I cannot add anymore ram, it was the first thing I checked, so I am looking at the two bundles above. They probably are the top of my budget, I know its not much but I probably could stretch a little extra.

I am not limited to those bundles, I looked at them as separate parts but found them more expensive.

I am happy at getting all the parts separately if there is a better/similar equally cheap option.

My current monstrosity:

Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2 rev 1
4GB ram:
Stick 1 Module Name Kingston, Module Size 2 GB (2 ranks, 8 banks), Module Type Unbuffered DIMM,
Memory Type DDR2 SDRAM, Memory Speed DDR2-667 (333 MHz), Module Width 64 bit

Stick 2 Module Size 2 GB (2 ranks, 8 banks), Module Type Unbuffered DIMM, Memory Type DDR2 SDRAM,
Memory Speed DDR2-800 (400 MHz), Module Width 64 bit
** I know the speed difference has its complications.
Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce GT 630
Monitors - BenQ GL2450H (Digital) [NoDB] HDMI connection @ 1920 x 1080 (native)
Generic PnP Monitor [NoDB] VGA connection @ 1680 x 1050 (native)
OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Professional - 64 bit

I plan on getting the upgrade soon, probable in the next two weeks. I won't be upgrading the graphics card, well not just yet I haven't checked compatibility yet.

Budget is approximately £100 maybe £130 at a push as cash is limited a few other things such as a new case, additional ram, and possibly a psu. I won't be getting a new monitor and live in the UK.

Overclocking is a possibility but not sure either way.
I think I have answered the questions on *How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice* although maybe in a roundabout way.

I understand there is a lot of opinion regarding AMD vs Intel but I will appreciate it all. Especially from people with experience with both.

I am not expecting miracles from this upgrade, an increase in performance for Fallout. Hopefully a speed increase when scanning and just in general.

16GB max ram for the Intel is not an issue, 32GB would be nice but doubt I could afford that much before it is time to upgrade,

The intel has 3MB Intel® Smart Cache and the AMD has 96kB L1, 1MB L2. I am not sure how these two difference effect the performance.

Theses are also items I'm looking at.

Case 1 I like the vents on top of this one.

Case 2

Case 1 Having a solid top would be useful not sure if it is better to have vents on top. Got more research in these to decide.

Potential ram

I think I have covered everything here *How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice*

I hope this is not too muddled, answered any questions and asks mine clearly enough.

EDIT: Just noticed the alternative source bundle has a different motherboard.

this should be short and simple. ill be happy to help you but this is just too much to sift through. your first few links don't work by the way.

all we need to know is:

1) what you currently have in this format, only model numbers:
-BenQ GL2450H
-GT 630
-etc
-etc
-etc
2) what you are using it for
3) your location
4) your budget

fill that out and ill help. i can use the big post as a reference. otherwise this is the largest post i've ever seen and i doubt you will get responses otherwise.

I have chosen

ASRock FM2A88M Extreme4+
AMD Athlon X4 860K Quad-Core 3.7GHz
HyperX FURY Series 8GB DDR3 1866MHz CL10

still keeping the GT 630

Any thoughts on this set up?
