How to transfer data from a Marine navigation device to a PC using Ethernet ?

I have a Garmin GPSMAP 7408, and want to transfer data form the device to my PC over the Ethernet, someone suggested me to enter device IP as transmitter IP on the PC and enter recipient IP on the device, unable to find the device IP or Mac address. Please suggest the correct way to transfer data from my marine device to my PC over the Ethernet

Does the device have an ethernet port? A you plugging this in to your LAN while at home, or do you want direct Garmin-to-PC with nothing else around?
