Hello. I've bought a used computer which has motherboard Asus m4a88td-m evo.
The problem is there's no audio coming out from it, but it detects the speakers when plugged in. I bought a sound card(Creative Audigy Sb0570) for the PCI slot and windows did not detect any device plugged. I've tried to disable the hdmi audio from bios, still its not working.
Could the motherboard's PCI slot and the onboard audio be fried ?

Solution
if the computer was used did the seller give you a full copy of the os with the pc?? a lot of times a seller will nuke the old os off a pc whe nthey sell it and wont give you the os disks or mb driver disks. whe nthey do this they sometime forget to install all of the drivers needed for windows.
http://www2.ati.com/drivers/amd-catalyst-15.7.1-sb-sata-ahci-win10-win8.1-win7.exe
these are chipset drivers for the mb install them and then reboot. if the new sound card does not show up go int othe bios see if the old sound card is turned on. if it is then install the newest sound card chipset drivers.
from realtech. if the old sound card wont work disable it in the bios and reboot the new sound card should now be seen.
